2008-2011 Visioning  Results
On January 11, 2008 the Forum for Volunteer Administrators hosted a Community Visioning Session to provoke discussion and gather input on the changing face of volunteerism and transformation of the volunteer management profession. Business leaders, foundation leaders, non-profit agencies CEOs, volunteer managers from a wide range of organizations were well represented in the 50+ participants. The session was led by Stacey Easterling (Atlantic Philanthropies) and two critical questions were asked of those attending:
1. What major changes will occur in volunteerism over the next 10 years?
2. What impact should those changes have on the management of volunteer resources?  MORE>

Would like to share your experience or gain more experience?
Join one of the FVA Committees...

Membership Committee
The mission of the Membership Committee is to promote, increase and retain FVA membership.  The committee has a membership drive each fall, maintains a membership data base, and surveys the membership for interests, needs, and strengths.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee is responsible for maintaining the budget, issuing monthly status reports, assuring the records are audited yearly and investigating avenues for fund-raising.

Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is responsible for recruiting and orienting board members, establishing norms for processes that affect the succession of officers and committee chairs, and reviewing progress on the strategic plan.

Program Committees
The Program Committee has the responsibility of assuring that the FVA membership has access to programs, events and services which will enhance their skills as managers of volunteers.  There are two subcommittees, the Professional Development Committee which plans, advertises and delivers workshops; oversees the Mentor Match Program and Certificate Program; and plans for the future development of the membership.

Communications Committee
The Communications Committee supports the Board and Commitees to increase the visibility of FVA and to enhance and strengthen the FVA image by providing a complete and consistent message (via electronic and print communications) to the public and FVA members. In addition, the Committee oversees the Volunteer Manager of the Year Award.
