FVA members have been influential in the field of volunteer administration in Northeast Ohio since the 1940's. FVA offers professional development workshops, programs and an annual conference designed to address the needs of those who work with and engage volunteers.

Our signature two part Professional Volunteer Management Series provides new volunteer administrators with the foundation for Volunteer Administration as well as offers seasoned professionals an opportunity to maintain and improve their Volunteer Program.

Meaningful mentoring and networking opportunities provide a venue for members to engage each other with innovative ideas and solutions to the ever changing face of volunteer administration.

History
The Forum for Volunteer Administrators began as an association of Greater Cleveland Volunteer Directors in the 1940's.  Through the years, FVA has been affiliated with several area organizations, including the United Way and the Business Volunteerism Council (now Business Volunteers Unlimited). In 1994, FVA incorporated as an independent not-for-profit organization in order to better serve the growing profession of volunteer administration. It has continued service in this way and was granted 501(c)(3) status by the federal government in 2002.
