FVA Volunteer Teams

All FVA programs and activities are overseen and coordinated by the volunteer teams listed below. New members are always welcome! Being on a team will allow you to broaden your horizons, give yourself a wider experience, meet new people and enhance your skills. Interested? Contact Holly Bhatt at [email protected]

Communications

Chair: Hannah Driscoll
Communications members help get the word out about FVA, its programs, and membership; and ensure consistent branding and messages. Members serve in sub-roles, including website administration, e-communications & newsletter editorial and design, social media management, graphic design, or managing FVA's Annual Volunteer Administrator of the Year Award process or National Volunteer Week Promotions. Commitment includes annual or bi-annual planning meetings; work is done mostly through email or phone communication and members may contribute virtually.

Membership
Chair: Shelley Orloski
The mission of the Membership Team is to promote, increase and retain FVA membership. Responsibilities include ongoing recruitment, organizing networking opportunities, maintaining the membership database, and writing feature articles for the newsletter.

Governance
Chair: Holly Bhatt
The Governance Committee is responsible for overall Board Governance and Leadership Recruitment. The Committee also oversees By-Laws and revisions as needed and maintenance of the Strategic Plan for FVA. The Chair of the Governance Committee also serves as the VP for the Forum for Volunteer Administrators and is slated as the next President of the organization.

Annual Conference
Chair: Carol Passerell
The FVA Annual Fall conference is a full day professional development opportunity for members as well as the volunteer community-at-large. Professionals in the Volunteer Administration arena present workshops to further educate Volunteer Administrators.

Professional Resources
Chairs: Christopher Auerbach-Brown
Throughout the year, this team organizes and implements half-day programs and networking coffee conversations that provide valuable resources along with tips and tricks that those of us who coordinate volunteers have adopted.  Please see the calendar of events for dates and topics.  If you are interested in helping, or have a topic you feel would be of merit for FVA members, please contact the chairpersons.

Finance
Chair: Nicki Price
The FVA Finance Team is responsible for maintaining and organizing the FVA budget. This team also oversees the day to day transactions of the FVA account/s as well as implements best practice guidelines for budgeting. This team as it grows will also help to implement Grant Fundraising measures for the organization.

Development
Chair: Laura Brindza-Lott
FVA's Development Committee creates and oversees the implementation of fund-raising strategies to ensure volunteer managers in our region always have access to professional development opportunities. The committee works to establish funds to support and promote educational workshops, FVA's flagship event the Annual Conference, and the Volunteer Administrator of Year Award.
