Announcing our Forum for Volunteer Administrators 14th Annual Conference:

Time to Make Change

We’re now accepting proposals for the Forum for Volunteer Administrators (FVA) 14th Annual Conference! We are looking for individuals to facilitate workshops and to serve on panels during the 60-minute and 45-minute breakout sessions at the conference. Showcase your own expertise, grow your network, and learn new skills – all at the FVA Conference! In return for their participation, conference presenters and their organization will be named in web promotions and press releases. Each presenter will also be promoted with a write-up in the conference program and will receive a complimentary ticket to the conference, including lunch.

As part of FVA’s sustainability initiative, we are not printing and providing workbooks and handouts. Handouts will be provided electronically through the Convene App prior to the conference. The conference team will share access to the app after registration and leading up to the conference. For the third year, we will separate compostable waste from solid waste at the conference. 

Individuals interested in presenting at the FVA Annual Conference should submit their proposal here.

Applicants do have the ability to save and return to their proposal through the online system.  However, if preferred, applicants can download a word version of the proposal submission form. Only proposals received through the online form by June 14, 2019  will be considered. If you have any questions, please contact Chair  Sara Curtis ([email protected]).

Important Dates:

  • June 14, 2019 – Proposals due
  • July 15, 2019 – Applicants will be notified regarding the status of their proposal(s)
  • October 22, 2019 – Audio Visual presentations to be mailed to Sara Curtis ([email protected]).
  • November 7, 2019 – Annual Volunteer Administration Conference at Education Services Center, Independence, Ohio

More About the Conference:

The FVA Annual Conference has provided volunteer resource managers and those that work closely with them an opportunity to learn new professional skills, address the issues important to the volunteer administration field, and grow their professional network. 

In 2019, the Annual Conference,Time to Make Change will help volunteer managers move forward effectively when change needs to occur. This year’s conference will focus on evolving  your leadership skills to build strong advocates for your organization. Join us for a day of learning, networking and to enhance your capacity as a volunteer manager.

  • 8:45-10:15 am Keynote Session I
  • 10:15-10:30 am Break
  • 10:30-11:30 am Keynote Session II
  • 11:30 am-12:45 pm Lunch, FVA Annual Update & Presentation of the 2019 Volunteer Administrator of the Year
  • 12:30-12:45 pm Break
  • 12:45-1:45 pm Breakout Session I (60 minutes)
  • 1:45-2 pm Break
  • 2-2:45 pm Breakout Session II (45 minutes)
  • 2:45-3 pm Break
  • 3-3:15 pm Final Comments

The conference will cost $80 for FVA members, $50 for students and retired professionals, and $100 for non-members. More details about the conference, sponsorship, and registration will be posted as they become available.
