Cate Murphy currently serves as the Director of Corporate Relations and Client Engagement for Samaritan Technologies, a leader in volunteer management software. She is responsible for several areas of business development and growth, and most recently is the driving creator of Samaritan’s Education Department where she has focused her extensive research on volunteer management curriculum, best practices, and field engagement. She is a widely sought after motivational and educational speaker having presented nationally at The Beryl Institute, AHVRP, the Society for Healthcare Volunteer Leaders (SHVL), as well as several state conferences. She is known for her humor, relatability, and real-world application teaching style, and is honored to currently serve on The Beryl Institute Solution Providers Board since 2021. Cate is also a life-long volunteer who works with grief groups at her local hospitals for parents who have lost infants at birth or after NICU placement. She also works with the Utah Coalition for Protecting Childhood in conjunction with the State of Utah Strengthening Families initiative. Cate is a certified trainer for the evidence-based protective factors tools spearheaded by the National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds and works closely with families in violence and domestic abuse prevention. In her spare time, Cate is a classically trained chef and mother of 2 beautiful daughters who make their home in Salt Lake City, UT. True to her Southern roots, Cate enjoys backyard BBQs, the outdoors and discovering new cities every time she travels!

Todd McMullin finished his degree in Non-profit Business Administration in 1993 and embarked on a journey to improve the world. Within 3 years he had founded a United Way chapter, a Volunteer Center, and a software company focused on volunteer recruiting & management. Following 9/11 he founded the Disaster Help Network (DHN) which ultimately provided volunteer systems and consulting that covered 35% of the US population, including metro Dallas, Phoenix, Tucson, and over 100 chapters of the Medical Reserve Corps and Citizen Corps. DHN was the official response system for Florida and Alabama during the '04 hurricanes. Todd has designed, deployed or supported volunteer engagement systems for the Smithsonian Institution, USO, Disney Worldwide Services, multiple state governments and hundreds of schools, NGO's and shelters.In 2007 he co-founded the Association for Leaders in Volunteer Engagement (AL!VE) and in 2017 helped organize the National Alliance for Volunteer Engagement. He has become an outspoken advocate for peer-to-peer engagements that are self-assessed and networked so that communities can grow organically from within.

After graduating Magna Cum Laude from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee, she started her career in the trenches as volunteer coordinator and worked her way through the nonprofit ranks to spearhead  fundraising and marketing programs of all sizes across the Midwest. These experiences propelled her to success in transition to the corporate sector, where she currently serves as the sales manager for VolunteerHub - a  volunteer management software aiding thousands of nonprofits worldwide to drive efficiency through their volunteer programs. Kiersten is proud to volunteer with Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wisconsin, The Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization, and other charitable organizations in the Milwaukee area, where she lives with her husband Ben and their French Bulldog, Winnie.
