Cate Murphy currently serves as the Director of Corporate Relations and Client Engagement for Samaritan Technologies, a leader in volunteer management software. She is responsible for several are as of business development and growth, and most recently is the driving cre ator of Samaritan’s Education Department where she has focused her extensiv e research on volunteer management curriculum, best practices, and field en gagement. She is a widely sought after motivational and educational speaker having presented nationally at The Beryl Institute, AHVRP, the Society for Healthcare Volunteer Leaders (SHVL), as well as several state conferences. She is known for her humor, relatability, and real-world application teach ing style, and is honored to currently serve on The Beryl Institute Solutio n Providers Board since 2021. Cate is also a life-long volunteer who works with grief groups at her local hospitals for parents who have lost infants at birth or after NICU placement. She also works with the Utah Coalition fo r Protecting Childhood in conjunction with the State of Utah Strengthening Families initiative. Cate is a certified trainer for the evidence-based pro tective factors tools spearheaded by the National Alliance of Children’s Tr ust and Prevention Funds and works closely with families in violence and do mestic abuse prevention. In her spare time, Cate is a classically trained c hef and mother of 2 beautiful daughters who make their home in Salt Lake Ci ty, UT. True to her Southern roots, Cate enjoys backyard BBQs, the outdoors and discovering new cities every time she travels!

Following 9/11 he founded the Disaster Help Network (DHN) which ultimately provided volunteer systems and consult ing that covered 35% of the US population, including metro Dallas, Phoenix, Tucson, and over 100 chapters of the Medical Reserve Corps and Citizen Cor ps. DHN was the official response system for Florida and Alabama during the '04 hurricanes. Todd has designed, deployed or supported volunteer engagem ent systems for the Smithsonian Institution, USO, Disney Worldwide Services , multiple state governments and hundreds of schools, NGO's and shelters.In 2007 he co-founded the Association for Leaders in Volunteer Engagemen t (AL!VE) and in 2017 helped organize the National Allian ce for Volunteer Engagement. He has become an outspoken advocate for pe er-to-peer engagements that are self-assessed and networked so that communi ties can grow organically from within.

These experiences propelled her to success in tra nsition to the corporate sector, where she currently serves as the sales ma nager for VolunteerHub - a volunteer management software aiding thousands of nonprofits worldwide to drive efficiency through their volunteer program s. Kiersten is proud to volunteer with Girls on the Run of Southeastern Wis consin, The Miss Wisconsin Scholarship Organization, and other charitable o rganizations in the Milwaukee area, where she lives with her husband Ben an d their French Bulldog, Winnie.
